Ascension of the Lord Orthodox icon

The Ascension of the Lord is one of the great feast of the Orthodox church and is celebrated 40 days after Pascha. In this icon we see that the Savior ascends bodily back to Heaven while the apostles and the Theotokos are witness to this event.

This icon represents some of the best of Russian iconography coming from the famous school of Andre Rublev.
